These include capacity-building programmes to support the implementation of strategic plan focus areas, the Nairobi Declaration on the Environmentally Sound Management of Electrical and Electronic Waste (decision IX/6) and the capacity-building components of other activities under the programme of work such as the partnership programme, national reporting and international cooperation and coordination.
The activities described consist of projects, workshops and other activities developed in cooperation with partner organizations and programmes during the 2009-2011 triennium. Some of these activities were initiated before the ninth meeting of the Conference of the Parties and were completed during the past triennium. Some are still at a preparatory stage and will likely be initiated after the tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties. Others were included in the joint activities to be implemented in cooperation with the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm convention secretariats as noted by the simultaneous extraordinary meetings of the Conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions (ExCOPs) in Bali in February 2010.
